Q-Med, the makers of Macrolane has recently stopped promoting of stabilized hyaluronic product for enhancement procedures. Surgery Life Enhancement previously utilized 5cc’s to 7cc’s of Macrolane for glans enhancement and 15cc’s to supplement the permanent PMMA shaft thickening procedures. Since Q-Med’s Macrolane announcement for “breast augmentation,” stating on their website:
- The decision has been taken due to the lack of consensus amongst radiologists regarding best practices in the examination of breasts treated with Macrolane.
After reviewing the current situation, and in consultation with the relevant authorities, Q-Med has decided to stop promoting the use of Macrolane in breast enhancement until consensus has been reached regarding best practices in breast radiology examination following Macrolane treatment.
The Q-Med’s Macrolane announcement explains that “there are no safety concerns with Macrolane as a product. This decision has been taken due to the lack of consensus amongst radiologists regarding examination of breasts treated with injectable products.”
When it Comes to Enhancement – Safety First
With the Q-Med Macrolane announcement, Surgery Life Enhancement no longer offers Macrolane for shaft thickening or glanular enhancement.
